Social Workers are professionals who provide patients and families with a wide range of supports and services to help cope with issues that can accompany hospitalization.
The Social Worker provides in-patient services and referrals within the community as needed. This is an integrated position with the Timiskaming Health Unit.
In-patient services provided by the Social Worker includes:
•Support for family members
•Assistance coping with diagnosis, illness or hospitalization
•Psycho-Social Assessments
•Crisis Intervention
•Short-Term Counseling
•Advocacy
•Liaison and linkage to interdisciplinary teams and community services
This service is available Monday to Friday between 0800 and 1530 hours.
