Temiskaming Hospital is proud to announce they have been awarded “Accredited with Exemplary Standing”, the highest possible ranking by Accreditation Canada for the second time in a row.
This ranking is awarded to organizations who demonstrate exceptional performance and quality in achieving the requirements of the accreditation program.
This achievement demonstrates the commitment of the Temiskaming Hospital staff to continuous improvement in delivering the best possible care and service to our patients and their families within our community.
Accreditation Canada provides external peer reviews to national and international healthcare organizations using evidence based standards and a strict peer review process.
A four-day on-site survey was conducted June 6-9, 2016 as part of an ongoing process focusing on quality improvement. Accreditation Canada surveyors evaluated the organization's performance against Accreditation Canada's evidence based standards of excellence.
The process reviewed Temiskaming Hospital's performance on 1893 applicable standards across eight dimensions of quality. 99.6% of these criteria and 100% of all Required Organizational Practice (ROP) criteria were met, as identified within the on-site results, which is an outstanding achievement on the part of all of our staff and professional staff.
In combination with the hospital’s accreditation achievement, in June, 2016, the hospital’s lab received a 98% highly acclaimed rating from the Ontario Laboratory Accreditation (OLA). OLA assesses the ability of laboratories to perform the scope of tests for which we are licensed and provides formal recognition of this competence through Accreditation.
The Board of Directors recognizes the hard work and commitment of staff, physicians and volunteers in the achievement of this distinguished accolade.
