One of the other public reporting indicators that the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has recommended are monthly surgical site infections, and the percentage of surgeries that prophylactic antibiotics are used.
Due to the fact that the current recommendations include only hip and knee replacements, the Temiskaming Hospital therefore is not presently required to report this information. However, we do capture data for our own in house surveillance and Accreditation purposes, and utilize this information to continuously monitor and improve the quality of our surgical services.
