Laboratory Services is responsible for providing timely and accurate results efficiently and effectively in order to support the physicians and other paramedical disciplines in the delivery of the best possible patient care. Diagnostic tests are provided in the individual areas of hematology, urinalysis, biochemistry, serology, histology, microbiology, and transfusion medicine. Temiskaming Hospital is linked in partnership with North Bay Regional Health Centre for the delivery of Pathology services for the community.
Services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through full service from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Friday and limited staffing or on call coverage providing urgent and emergency services outside of those hours and on weekends and holidays. Staffing includes nine Registered Medical Technologists as well as the Office Secretary and the Laboratory Manager
