Our social workers provide emotional support, conduct mental health assessments, provides advocacy, and connections to resources, as they cope with challenges brought on by illness, hospitalization, and treatment. Social workers are available to all patients, as well as their families, who are hospitalized.

Social workers are available to all patients, as well as their families, who are hospitalized. You don’t need a referral from your doctor to see a social worker. Please speak to any member of the health-care team if you feel a social worker may be able to help you or by calling the Social Work office directly at:

Our Services
As part of the interdisciplinary health-care team, social works can provide a variety of services:
Communication with your health-care team
Support and resources in the event of catastrophic or chronic illness
Assistance with coping with diagnosis, illness, or hospitalization
Support for family members
Grief and loss counselling
Crisis intervention
Caregiver support
Facilitation of family meetings/conferences
Links to community resources, programs and services
Other individual or family concerns (e.g. dependency issues, past trauma, caregiver stress, family conflict, Power of Attorney, etc..)
