Would you consider serving on Temiskaming Hospital’s Board?

Temiskaming Hospital provides care for our patients and families, and has proudly served our diverse communities since 1970.

Temiskaming Hospital seeks to recruit new Board candidates who will reflect the hospital’s needs and aspirations with respect to knowledge, attributes, competencies and experience. Competencies provide the foundation for the Board composition.

Our organization would like to attract Board candidates who possess a complementary combination of skills and attributes including governance and strategic planning experience, leadership, political acuity and advocacy, as well as an appreciation for the role that diversity plays in delivering excellent care in a community setting. Above all, Board members display the drive to contribute to the governance of Temiskaming Hospital, with a demonstrated commitment to the community through participation in community endeavours, whether as a Board member or a volunteer.

In addition to these core professional competencies, our organization is looking for candidates with experience in several key areas including:
·         health care system and patient care;
·         legal / law;
·         public affairs and communications;
·         fundraising;
·         labour relations;
·         private and public sector acumen; and
·         information technology.

To assist in your development as a Board Member, Temiskaming Hospital offers a mentoring program and a governance orientation program through the Ontario Hospital Association.

To express your interest, please contact Mike Baker, Secretary to the Board, ceo@temiskaming-hospital.com.
