Temiskaming Hospital is a 59-bed fully accredited community hospital located in Temiskaming Shores, ON.   We are currently accepting resumes for a Part-Time Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate with a Masters in Speech and Language Pathology;
  • Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario;
  • Current CPR certification;
  • Oral proficiency in French at a Superior or advance level is recommended;
  • Previous Hospital experience is an asset;
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, Professional Staff and other health care professionals;
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills;
  • Open to change and is proactive to departmental initiatives;
  • Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record;
  • Evidence of organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Ability to work independently.

 

Summary of Duties

  • Assess and investigate all referrals received
  • Establish, plan and implement patient programs
  • Interact with other health care professionals, family and others involved in patient’s care
  • Monitor patient programs to ensure a safe working environment is maintained and that program changes are initiated as required
  • Complete all relevant documentation according to departmental standards
  • Assures confidentiality of patient information in all interactions and documentation
