On November 20th and December 4th, 2015 Temiskaming Hospital, one of several community partners, hosted the Preventing Alcohol & Risk Related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y) Program. The objective of this program is to reduce both intentional and unintentional injuries in youth.

Students from local high-schools had the opportunity to hear presentations on subjects such as Injury and Risk Taking, Spinal Cord & Brain Injury and Distracted Driving.   Students had “front row seats” as they witnessed a mock trauma patient arriving in the Emergency Department and care of the patient in Special Care Unit.

Temiskaming Hospital would like to thank our staff, students from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), Dr. Don Davies – NOSM Site Liaison Clinician and Active Staff with Temiskaming Hospital and our valued community partners for making this event a success.
