Temiskaming Hospital is pleased to announce that the Temiskaming area office for the Alzheimer Society of Timmins-Porcupine District is relocating to the Temiskaming Hospital. “We are very excited to welcome the Alzheimer Society to the Temiskaming Hospital site.” stated Mike Baker, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We continue to work with other health care partners to review their needs and our space availability”.
The Alzheimer Society will be located in room 722 in the hospital, an area best accessed from the North parking lot, mostly used for the Specialty Clinics, VitalAire and Community Cancer Care.
“We have been active in the Temiskaming area for over 10 years, but without official office space and are thrilled to finally have somewhere the community can directly access our services” stated Tracy Koskamp-Bergeron, Director of Services for the Alzheimer Society of Timmins-Porcupine District. “The office will be staffed Monday - Friday from 9am - 4pm”.
An additional benefit to the hospital is the location of the Alzheimer office. Room 722 is located at the end of the hall where the hospital’s long term care patients reside. This will provide easy access to resources for the families of those who are dealing with Alzheimer’s.
“We will begin providing services from the hospital location starting July 23, 2018 and expect to hold an official Grand Opening on August 15, 2018. Please plan to stop by and meet the staff,” stated Koskamp-Bergeron.
“The addition of the Alzheimer Society is one more step in the creation of a Health Care Campus at the hospital site that will broaden the number of health care services community members will be able to access at one health care site.” concluded Baker.
