Temiskaming Hospital is a 59-bed fully accredited community hospital located in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario. We are currently accepting resumes for a Temporary Human Resources Manager to cover a leave.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Manager is accountable for promoting sound labour relations practices and fostering good relations with our local unions. The Manager provides consultative services to management and staff on a variety of issues related to organizational policies, collective agreements, training, health and safety and labour legislation. The Manager will liaise with hiring managers regarding recruitment needs, attendance management, job descriptions and final hiring decisions. Further he/she will support recruitment through advertising, postings and direct candidate solicitation. As well, the Manager provides counseling and career planning for employees. The Manager participates in the collective bargaining and grievance processes and manages a variety of Human Resource programs including orientation and employee recognition.
The Human Resource Manager is expected to perform these functions in a safe environment, in compliance with regulations and legislation and in accordance with the Mission Statement of the Hospitals.
A diploma or degree in commerce or business administration with a major in HR Management and or equivalent. A minimum of five years’ experience in a HR position, working in a unionized environment is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills. Experience in Benefits Administration, Pay Equity, Compensation and Wages, Employee Engagement and Labour Relations are assets. Bilingualism is considered an asset.
